The idea for Avla was born one evening when Anna-Carin was trying to find the right stallion for her mare. After hours of clicking, comparing and losing track of open tabs, it felt unreasonable that breeding information should be so hard to access and so fragmented. The seed was planted – but to turn the idea into reality, she needed someone who could build it.
Through a Facebook group, she found Sara – an engineer looking for an entrepreneurial partner to build something meaningful with. Anna-Carin pitched her idea. And Sara said yes. She didn’t just want to develop and build apps – she also wanted to run a company. It became a digital handshake in the middle of the pandemic, and Avla took shape through remote meetings, horse talk and screen sharing. The first time they met in real life? At the bank, opening the company account.
We build Avla together with you
Behind Avla are the two of us – Sara and Anna-Carin – two horse nerds building Avla step by step. We stand behind Avla all the way, from idea and user needs to design, technical development and launch.
From the start, we chose to grow without external funding, to maintain full control over both direction and feeling. By constantly testing ideas directly with our users, we know we’re building something that truly makes a difference.
Your feedback means everything to us. It helps us adjust, refine, half-halt – and sometimes circle back – to find the right path forward.
Our values
We want to make facts and knowledge more accessible, so more people can make confident, informed decisions in their breeding work. When knowledge is shared and choices increase, the overall quality of breeding improves.
