About Excelsior Optimus
Excelsior Optimus is bred from an outstanding performance dam line and has also made a very promising start to his own sport career. The combination of proven top-level genetics and early sporting potential makes him a name well worth remembering.
His sire, Ermitage Kalone, competes at the highest international level with results up to 1.65 m, including an eighth-place finish at the Olympic Games in 2024. He is firmly established among the elite of modern show jumping.
The dam, Cacacha van het Schaeck, was herself highly successful in international 1.60 m show jumping with Max Sebrechts. She has also produced several sport horses competing at top level, including Like a Diamond van het Schaeck, ridden by Marlon Modolo Zanotelli up to 1.60 m, and Chili van het Schaeck Z, ridden by Trapp O’Neal in 1.55 m classes.
The granddam, Fortis Fortuna, has likewise been successful both in sport and breeding. She recorded wins and placings at 1.60 m level with Daniel Coyle and has produced multiple horses competing in international top-level show jumping. Among her most notable offspring, in addition to Cacacha van het Schaeck, are Ciemusic Z, Just the Music, Joske F, and Morice F Z.
In the third generation appears Coco’t Laerhof Z, who competed up to 1.35 m level and produced several sport horses, with Fortis Fortuna and E-Muze Yek standing out as the most successful.
The fourth generation is represented by the mare Lhasa, an exceptionally influential broodmare who has produced a remarkable number of international sport horses. Among them are Quarts-Musik (1.60 m), Air Power van ’t Bisthof (1.50 m), Kentucky van ’t Laerhof (1.55 m), Jackson van ’t Laerhof (1.50 m), Menzo de Toxandria (1.60 m), Mom’s Funky Music (1.60 m), Popeye van ’t Klavertje Vier (1.50 m), Breitling du Paradis Z (1.60 m), Esprit d’Intro Z (1.60 m), El Torreo de Muze (1.60 m), Kraapul F (1.60 m), Next Funky de Muze (1.50 m), Olympic Muze (1.50 m), Crazy Music Royal Z (1.45 m), Hannibal F (1.45 m), Musique de Muze (1.45 m), Macon de Muze (1.45 m), Kelly Tje (1.45 m), and Morzino de la Pomme (1.45 m).
The damsire is Bamako de Muze, while the maternal great-grandsire is the legendary Quidam de Revel, himself successful at 1.60 m level and one of the most influential sires in modern show jumping breeding.
Excelsior Optimus is approved with SWB via a one-mare license, as well as with BWP and Zangersheide.
