Charif Ek

Complete, scopey young star from one of BWP’s strongest competition bloodlines! Charif Ek is a truly modern show jumper with the world’s best bloodlines combined in his pedigree. He is naturally careful with a wonderful ability to judge obstacles and jumps with fantastic leg technique, great scope, and strong take-off. He is strong, sound, and well-built with correct legs and good hooves. We look forward with confidence to eventually seeing him showcase his amazing skills in the competition arena. His sire, the noble Holsteiner stallion Charisto vd Heffinck (by Casall – Christo – Palthon xx), was one of the best jumpers of his generation when he was approved in Holstein at 2.5 years old. He was subsequently also approved in BWP with excellent evaluations. His offspring are elegant and great jumpers; already his first foal crop produced the BWP champion foal and the third-placed foal in the Belgian national final. Charisto competed successfully in the Belgian stallion series as a young horse alongside his breeding career. He was sold to Mexico a few years ago where, according to reports, he is developing well with good sport successes and is moving up in the classes. He passes on elegant type and fantastically modern jumping with quick reflexes. At the BWP licensing in 2024, Charisto’s son Versailles vd Heffinck was named reserve champion! Many of Charisto’s elegant and well-jumping offspring have placed at the top in various free-jumping competitions in Belgium. The dam is Latifa Ek, by BWP champion stallion Latour TN (by Darco – Malito de Reve – Chin-Chin) from the famous mare line of Curly Chin. Latifa Ek comes from one of BWP’s strongest mare lines, BWP Performance Line 13, and she has a jumping index of an excellent 144 in SWB. She is a fantastic jumper with great scope, wonderful leg technique, excellent rideability and willingness to work, and is ranked as one of the best in her generation in Sweden! Latifa Ek has represented SWB with Joel Andersson in the Young Horse World Championships at Zangersheide as both a 5- and 6-year-old. She made her debut at 140 cm already as a 6-year-old, and during her 7-year-old season in 2023 she debuted at advanced jumping with good results. Her 8-year-old season in 2024 has also started brilliantly with two international placings at CSI Herning! Several international top riders, including two of our Swedish gold medalists, have shown great interest in her — so we’ll see how long we can resist.
