He also possesses a good temperament and a strong desire to perform. In jumping, he is careful, shows great scope, and has an excellent canter. Le Blue Diamond was ridden by Jan Vermeiren during his successful young horse years, competing up to 1.50m classes. Highlights of his early career include being champion as a 4-year-old, vice champion at 5, champion again at 6 (Mechelen), and a finalist as a 7-year-old (Gesves). He was then taken over by Olivier Philippaerts, and the new partnership quickly found success at five-star competitions. Among their achievements were top-ten finishes in CSI5 events in Mechelen and Gothenburg*. As part of the Belgian team, the pair took bronze at the European Championships in Riesenbeck and also won the Global Champions League Final in Prague. Olivier Philippaerts enjoyed major success with Le Blue Diamond until the end of 2023, and during 2024, Thibault Philippaerts has continued competing the stallion at up to 1.55m level.
