Blue Hors Purple Rain

Purple Rain is a refined and expressive stallion with lightness in his gaits and a positive attitude toward work. He shows a strong willingness to perform. At the KWPN performance test, his walk was assessed as pure four-beat with good overtrack and reach. The trot is described as supple and energetic, with good impulsion and well-activated hindquarters. The canter was judged to be well balanced and self-carried, with good technique. Purple Rain is considered very talented and gives his rider a light and positive feeling. His sire, Desperado N.O.P., is an outstanding son of Vivaldi and has enjoyed great success in both sport and breeding. Together with Emmelie Scholtens, he has won World Cup qualifiers and earned championship medals. Desperado N.O.P. is the sire of 20 licensed stallions, including Asgard’s Ibiza, as well as two Grand Prix horses. The dam, Iana V.O.D., is a full sister to Kjento and a half-sister to Mowgli V.O.D. She completed her mare performance test with very strong results. The accomplished dam line also includes several Small Tour horses, such as Evita (by Tuschinski), Zidana (by Krack C), Uno (by Jazz), and Rhapsody (by Lancet). In addition, the licensed stallions Lance (by Glamourdala) and The Onyx (by Glock’s Taminiau) are found in the dam line. The damsire Negro and Jazz in the fourth generation are both highly regarded breeding stallions who have made a significant impact on Dutch and international dressage breeding. Blue Hors Purple Rain is approved via a one-mare license with SWB and is also approved with Danish Warmblood and KWPN.
