About For Romance I
For Romance I is one of Germany’s most promising young dressage stallions, and he received his first breeding index in 2016 of 158, placing him among the top 1%. For Romance also has exceptional fertility, consistently achieving around 90% pregnancy rates via TAI in Sweden.
At the licensing in Vechta in 2011, For Romance was the undisputed champion stallion. He was described as
“a long-legged beauty with a handsome face, elegant topline, and very active hindlegs.”
At the following auction, he was sold to DLZ Lodbergen for €750,000.
For Romance completed an excellent 30-day test, receiving, among other scores, 9.25 for trot and 9 for canter.
In 2014, as a five-year-old, he qualified for the Bundeschampionat in his first competition of the year, scoring 9.5 for trot. He has only competed a few times each year but won a qualification for the Nürnberger Burgpokal in 2016 with Kira Wulferding and, in 2017, made several starts in advanced-level dressage, earning wins or top placings in all.
For Romance I is well on his way to Grand Prix level.
“A foal crop like this is something you see very, very rarely!”
said the Oldenburg breeding director after inspecting For Romance’s first foal crop in Germany.
From that crop, 14 foals were selected for the elite foal auction in Vechta, and all were sold for over €10,000.
His son For Dance S ranked among the best at the German Foal Championship in Lienen, earning For Romance the "Hauptprämiensieger" title (Main Premium Champion).
Combined with his title as licensing champion, this “double” has only been achieved by Rohdiamant, Sandro Song, and Fürstenball before him.
From this first crop, seven sons were licensed in 2015 by various breed registries, and this success has continued every year, with many licensed sons in different registries.
One of these is his son For Final, currently available in my stallion program via Lodbergen.
For Final is For Romance’s highest-scoring son.
For Romance's sire, Fürst Romancier, placed highly in both the World Championships for Young Horses and the Bundeschampionat, and is now ridden by Matthias Alexander Rath.
For Romance's full sister, Fasine, was champion mare in Oldenburg, won the Bundeschampionat in 2015, and was later sold that year for the record price of 13 million SEK.
His dam is also the sister of the licensed stallion Diamond Dancer (by Diamond Hit), and the maternal line also produced the legendary stallion Voltaire.
