About Pegase van't Ruytershof

Pegase van’t Ruytershof ranks among the very best stallions of his generation and has already demonstrated outstanding quality in both sport and breeding. As a three-year-old, Pegase van’t Ruytershof was named Champion Stallion at the BWP licensing in 2018. The following year, he continued his success by winning the stallion series of the Pavo Cup and was also awarded the BWP Young Stallion Award in 2020. Alongside his breeding career, Pegase van’t Ruytershof has been trained and competed by Jeroen de Winter. The pair are now well established at international 1.55 m level. In breeding, Pegase van’t Ruytershof has made an exceptional impact from his very first foal crop. His offspring have shown international quality already as foals, with the first crop producing a winner regardless of gender at the BWP Championships for Elite Foals. Among his still young offspring are Tarantion de Rie, winner of the Belgian Cup for four-year-olds, and Taboe van het Moelenhof, who placed fifth in the same championship. Nelson van de Kapel and Tuur M are both approved stallions and have been successful in four-year-old classes. Several of Pegase van’t Ruytershof’s offspring have also achieved strong results in Belgian four-year-old classes, including Tahiti van het Netehof, Tommy van het Netehof, Tommy wan’t Paradus, Touch the Sky van Dwerse Hagen, and Twist van’t Reytershof. In addition, Tellini van’t Reytershof is approved with SBS, while Talent van de Berghoeve is approved with BWP. Numerous offspring have also excelled in free-jumping competitions and achieved top prices at auctions. In total, Pegase van’t Ruytershof has 30 approved sons. His sire, Comme Il Faut, competed at the very highest international level with Marcus Ehning. The dam, Gianthina v’t Ruytershof, is also the dam of the Grand Prix stallion Jilbert van’t Ruytershof. Jilbert won the Pavo Stallions Winter Tour as a four-year-old in 2012 and placed fifth in the final the following year. As a six-year-old, he jumped double clear and reached the final at the World Championships for Young Horses. At the age of nine, Jilbert van’t Ruytershof competed at 1.60 m level in CSI5* Global Champions Tour events with C. van Paesschen, achieving several top placings, including fifth in the 1.60 m Grand Prix in Rome GCT CSI5*, ninth in the 1.60 m Grand Prix in Berlin GCT CSI5* after a clear round, twelfth in the 1.60 m Grand Prix in Monte Carlo CSI5*, second in the 1.50 m class in Villach Treffen CSI5*, and a clear round in the 1.60 m class in Mexico GCT. In 2021, Jilbert was competed by Young Rider A. Housen with excellent results, including a win in the 1.50 m Grand Prix at Valkenswaard CSI Young Rider, second place in the Nations Cup in Opglabeek, and participation in the Belgian Senior Championships in Lanaken. Jilbert van’t Ruytershof’s oldest offspring were eight years old in 2021, with eleven of them competing internationally. These include N Rebel van de Vluchtdijk (CSI 1.45 m), Night van de Kwakkelhoek (CSI Young Rider 3*), O de Chanel (finalist at the World Championships for Seven-Year-Old Horses), as well as Ocean van’t Ruytershof, One Way van de Kwakkelhoek, and Orelio di Cantero, all competing in CSI Young Horse classes at seven years of age. Jilbert has already produced four approved sons, among them Jewel of Jilbert and Jalhay Biolley. His offspring Tilbert vh Appelsvoordehof won the BWP free-jumping competition in Antwerp in 2021. The damsire, Cartani, a son of Carthago Z, competed with Charlotte von Rönne and achieved victories and placings in CSI5* Grand Prix and Nations Cup competitions in Rome, St. Gallen, Balve, Aachen, Drammen, Linz, and Oslo. The pair also competed at the European Championships in 2013. Cartani’s dam, Taggi, was one of the world’s top show jumping horses, placing five times in the Aachen Grand Prix, competing at the Olympic Games, and winning both team and individual silver medals at the World Championships in 1994. The granddam, Diamanthina vh Ruytershof, herself recorded wins at CSI5* level and is a full sister to Emerald. She is the dam of, among others, Herald van’t Ruytershof (CSI5*, ridden by Jos Verlooy) and Inathina van’t Ruytershof, who is in turn the dam of Night Light van’t Ruytershof (CSI4*, ridden by Philippe Rozier), Missouri van’t Ruytershof (CSI5*), Messi van’t Ruytershof (CSI5*), Le Blue Diamond van’t Ruytershof (CSI5*, ridden by Olivier Philippaerts), and Kentucky van’t Ruytershof (CSI3*, ridden by Harrie Smolders). In the third generation appears Carthina Z, the dam of numerous international top-level sport horses such as Emerald (CSI5*, Olympic Games in Rio with Harrie Smolders) and Ilusionata van’t Meulenhof, who placed third in the Grand Prix at the World Cup in Bordeaux CSI5*-W, third in the Grand Prix in Basel CSI5*, and third in the Grand Prix in London GCT CSI5* with Niels Bruynseels. The same generation also includes Diamant de Semilly, one of the world’s most influential sires in modern show jumping breeding.
