About Happy Landais

Happy Landais is a 2017 bay Selle Français stallion, SF Originel, standing 1.67m, by Andiamo Semilly out of a daughter of Narcotique Landaise. His sire Andiamo Semilly, partnered with Pénélope Leprévost, reached the top level of the sport: second at the CSI3* in Maubeuge (1.60m), eighth at the CSI5* in Lausanne (1.55m) and sixth in the CSIO5* at Aachen. The Landaise damline behind him has produced top performers for the Roger family since the 1960s, including Milor Landais, sire of Olympic vice-champion Samourai du Thot, and Une Étoile Landaise, French National Champion with Eden Leprévost. Bred by GAEC Roger, Happy Landais made his own mark on the young horse circuit under Matthias Hens, then stepped up through CSI2* and CSI4* ranks with Marthe Heudens and later Gilles Thomas. Among his best results: second in the CSIYH1* of Vejer de la Frontera (1.45m), sixth and ninth in the CSI4* of Stockholm (1.45m), and second in the CSI4* of Maastricht (1.40m). If you are after blood, a good temperament and strength in a stallion, this is where his breeding value lies. He is expected to pass on suppleness and scope, with strong hock action. His first foals are just turning five, among them Vamiro (out of Chellano Z) and Wentana van the Blijbosch (out of Iron Man vt Meulenhof).
