Napoleon is a 2023 bay Selle Francais stallion standing 169 cm, by Grandorado TN (KWPN, ridden by Willem Greve, over 759,000 EUR in career earnings with wins at CSIO5* Dublin and Rotterdam and a runner-up finish at the 2025 World Cup Final) out of Ho Vive, herself by Andiamo Semilly. Ho Vive is a full sister to Upsilon, a multiple national champion and CCI5* winner with Tom Carlile, as well as to Trouble Fete and Floc. Bred by Ecuries Carlile Complet Eventing - the breeding operation of Olympic eventing rider Thomas Carlile - in Savigne-sous-le-Lude, France, and co-owned by Carlile Complet Eventing, France Etalons, and Pauline Clement. Napoleon was crowned 2025 French 2-year-old Champion with an average score of 17.57 out of 20, including an 18 for free-jumping. As a breeding prospect he's described as modern, refined and responsive, agile, careful and exceptionally scopey, well-balanced with a strong percentage of blood, intelligent with sharp reactivity - considered well suited to both show jumping and eventing. 2026 is his first season at stud, so there are no offspring yet.
