About Vingino

Vingino is a KWPN stallion born in 2002, bred by J. Albers in the Netherlands and standing at Hengststation Bachl in Germany. He is a son of Voltaire (by Furioso II), with Cassini I as his damsire, tracing to Holstein line 474A, which also produced Verdi among others. His sire Voltaire, who enjoyed great international success under Jos Lansink and Emile Hendrix, is one of the world's best sires based on the sporting achievements of his offspring, as are damsire Cassini I and Quidam de Revel. Vingino's dam Notre Dame was successful in 1.60m Grand Prix competitions under Italian rider Roberto Arioldi. Vingino's offspring are now successful worldwide and there are already several licensed sons. Among the most notable are Cavalia (winner in London under Laura Kraut/USA, successful in Aachen, Brussels, and Dublin) and Gigi's Girl BH (World Cup winner in Toronto under McLain Ward/USA and successful up to 1.60m with Mimi Gochman/USA). His offspring have earned more than €2 million in prize money to date. Vingino always caused a sensation when he appeared in show jumping arenas around the world — a large, careful, powerful, and in every respect impressive, even charismatic grey stallion. Whether with Annelies Vorsselmans or the then very young Abdel Said, he always impressed with top performances on the course. He competed successfully up to 1.60m, including a 5th place in the Grand Prix at the CSIO 5* in Mannheim, Grand Prix at the CHIO Rotterdam, the Riders Tour in Paderborn and Hagen, the World Championships in Caen/FRA, and a second place at the CSI in Lanaken (BEL). Vingino was awarded the title of DSP Master Stallion and received the highest honour, Pedikat Keur, from the KWPN in the Netherlands. He was ranked number one on the Horse Telex List D of promising sires worldwide with offspring up to 12 years old.
