About Taalex

Taalex is a 2004 chestnut Bavarian Warmblood stallion, standing 1.66m, by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve. Bred by Jürgen Strauss in Germany, he's owned by Nicolas Paillot. His sire Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve, also known as O'Tangelo, was BWP Ambassador in 2013 and later KWPN Horse of the Year, siring top performers including Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z (multiple GP5* winner with D. Deusser, over 3 million EUR in prize money) and Darry Lou (winner CSIO5* GP Calgary). Taalex built an international career under Belgian riders Constant Van Paesschen and Grégory Wathelet, with wins including a GP5* victory in Zurich and the GP1.55m at CSI5* Doha, before competing with American riders from 2016. He retired from sport in 2022. Though his first crop is still small, his offspring already include Freud de Kreisker (licensed stallion, World 7-Year-Old Championship finalist) and Pinky Pie de Libersart, both showing real promise on the showgrounds.
