About Airborne vd Heffinck

Airborne was appointed champion stallion in show jumping in the world's leading show jumping studbook BWP in early March 2026. Eklunda stuteri co-owns him with vd Heffinck and top rider Niels Bruynseels. Airborne is the result of the Hammerlink family's targeted breeding over many generations of international grand prix horses in direct descent on both the sire and dam side. Sire Cooper vd Heffinck (by Caretino) competed himself at the highest international level with among others Olivier Philippaerts with wins and placings in 5* 160 cm show jumping. Cooper has produced numerous fantastic offspring in international top sport, for example the world's highest ranked show jumper Hello Jefferson with Scott Brash in 170 cm show jumping. Airborne's grandsire is GP stallion Kafka vd Heffinck (by Calvaro-Diamant de Semilly) who ridden by Rodrigo Almeida among other things won the 160 cm Grand Prix in Athens. In the third generation is Contact vd Heffinck with numerous wins and placings in difficult international show jumping up to 165 cm, including Sires of the World and Salzburg Grand Prix. Contact has the same dam as super stallion Clinton who among other things was fourth at the Olympics with Dirk Demeersman. As number four in the stallion line we find the grand prix stallion Orlando (by Heartbreaker-Darco) with 160 cm show jumping, and in fifth place in the stallion line is the French foundation stallion Papillon Rouge, 160 cm show jumping. The dam line is equally impressive! Airborne's dam Sissi Star d'Augustijn has placings in international 145 cm already in 2025 as a seven-year-old when she was clear and placed in both qualifiers and in the final of the World Championships for young horses in Lanaken for seven-year-olds. She is now being competed further with sights on absolute top sport by Thibeau Spits. Granddam is super mare Isolde vd Heffinck who has numerous wins and placings in international 150 cm show jumping with among others Thibeau Spits and Rodrigo Almeida. Isolde has produced three offspring in international grand prix show jumping: Manquinn vd Heffinck 150 cm, Rossi vd Heffinck 150 cm, Sissi Star d'Augustijn. Great granddam Only Picobello has produced no less than five internationally very successful grand prix horses: Romeo 55 (165 cm who won Olympic team gold with Harry Charles), Check Picobello (160 cm with Eric Lamaze), Clown of Picobello (160 cm Abdel Said), Add Picobello (150 cm with Loewie Joppen) and Copaine de Picobello (150 cm). Only Picobello competed successfully herself in parallel with breeding up to 140 cm show jumping and her dam Pleasure of Picobello was successful in 160 cm show jumping with Max Kuhner.
