Denzel van't Meulenhof

One of the rising stars in breeding. Denzel van 't Meulenhof is well on his way to becoming an absolute top-class sire. His oldest offspring will be ten years old in 2023 and among them there are a number of stars. For example, Nixon van 't Meulenhof, Jos Verlooy's future horse, and Ipsthar, the former Dutch 6-year-old champion under Bas Moerings, are offspring from his first crop. Just like I.Denzel v.h. Meulenhof (Matheus Correa) and Oeli 'R' (Alessandra Reich) they already jump at 1.60m level. Also from Denzel's following crops, many young horses are eager to step into the limelight. Think for example of Jikke-Cara who was sold in the 2020 edition of "The Youngsters" for no less than EUR 325,000. His sire power is also quietly expressing itself on the rankings. On the Horsetelex ranking for stallions with at least 40 offspring of up to 11 years old in the international sport, say the ranking for young sires, Denzel proudly finished in first place at the end of 2022. That his offspring is doing so well should not come as a surprise. After all, Denzel is the umpteenth disciple of the illustrious line of Qerly Chin. He is a son of the top stallion Marius Claudius (multiple GP winner under the saddle of the British rider Robert Smith) who unfortunately died too early. The mother of Denzel is the equally famous mare Narcotique de Muze IV (s. Quidam de Revel), who was successful at the highest level under Ludo Philippaerts. This makes that Denzel is half-brother to the international jumping horses Iron Lady van 't Meulenhof and L'Arcotique van 't Meulenhof as well as the top-level jumping horse Jenson van 't Meulenhof (Niels Bruynseels).
