About Mylord Carthago

Mylord Carthago has had a fantastic sport career. He has been trained and competed over the past seven years by his rider Pénélope Leprevost from the French national team. Together, they progressed from young horse classes all the way to the European Championships, World Equestrian Games, and the Olympics. Mylord Carthago was already successful as a young horse, placing 4th in the World Breeding Championship for 7-year-olds in Lanaken in 2007. He debuted at Grand Prix level as an 8-year-old and won his first CSI3* Grand Prix that same year. Since then, he has claimed numerous victories in CSI5* Grand Prix competitions, including a win in the Gucci Masters Grand Prix CSI5*. The pair also earned team gold in Aachen in 2010, team silver medals in the Nations Cup in Aachen, at the European Championships, and at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. They represented France at the London 2012 Olympics. Mylord Carthago was officially retired at the Gucci Masters Grand Prix in September 2014 and has since stepped away from competition. He is one of the few stallions in showjumping who remained actively involved in breeding throughout his entire sport career.
