Casallo Z

Casallo Z is a 2004 chestnut Zangersheide stallion by Casall (Holsteiner, by Caretino) out of Katinka III, herself out of Kira XVII. He carries the influential Holstein Perra maternal line, the same family behind Carthago and Chacco Blue's sire Chambertin. Bred by Maurice Hermans in Belgium and standing 167 cm, he is jointly owned by Haras de Clarbec and France Etalons. Casallo competed his entire career for Italy with Piergiorgio Bucci, including the 2013 European Championships in Herning, racking up more than 80 top-10 finishes internationally with wins at the Estoril 5*GP and Nations Cups in Dublin, Rome and Arezzo. As a sire he's known for a compact, powerful build with a genuinely careful, quick-reflexed jump and a technique that holds up at speed - best matched with mares carrying a bit more blood. His offspring are already competing widely across Europe, from Chalotte 123 Z and Billy Rivera internationally to a growing French-bred crop, including Casalita Denfer, who jumped 15 clear rounds out of 16 and finished 9th in the French 5-year-old Championship for foreign horses.
