After the super stallion Kashmir van Shutterhof from an incredibly strong sport dam line! Shared 4-year-old champion in BWP’s stallion competition. Sire Kashmir van Shutterhof, by Nabab de Reve - Tenor Manciais - Furioso II, probably needs no further introduction as the sire of our Swedish Olympic gold medal horses H&M Indiana and H&M All In! Other top offspring include Reveur de Hurlebise ridden by Kevin Staut/Malin Baryard and Gazelle Ken Farrington. Kashmir’s offspring are characterized by great courage and fighting spirit, with a strong will to give their all for their rider. In jumping, they combine quick reflexes with powerful jumping ability and athletic scope, and because of their reactivity and excellent overview, they are often incredibly fast. Kashmir himself competed as a young horse in the Belgian stallion young horse classes. When it was time for bigger challenges on the international stage, Philippe Lejeune took over him. At 10 years old, Kashmir was simultaneously competing in several Nations Cup events in La Baule, Lucerne, Rotterdam, Dublin, and Calgary, alongside his breeding career. Kashmir van Shutterhof passed away in autumn 2021, aged 27. Unfortunately, he has not been fertile for many years, so his few remaining frozen doses are used exclusively for ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection). There are only a handful of approved sons of Kashmir, so we are very happy about Kathmandu, who is now fully approved in the world’s leading showjumping breeding federation BWP after a successfully completed performance test with very good reviews. In early April, AVN will inspect him for SWB, and as soon as that is done, we will register him for the breeding roster on the regular SWB license. Kathmandu’s dam line is also incredibly strong! His dam Hosanne ES keur pref sport-sport has been active in breeding via ICSI and competes concurrently; she is now successfully competing at advanced international showjumping level. Already as a young horse, she was one of the absolute best in her year group in KWPN statistics. Hosanne ES is a truly superb mare who consistently produces top offspring! She is, among others, the dam of stallion Mindset ES, who in 2020 was awarded Premium Stallion and Performance Test winner in KWPN and who in February 2022 won the KWPN stallion series and the final of the Blom Stallion Competition! Mindset ES won the bronze medal at the Young Horse World Championship in Zangersheide as a 5-year-old in 2023. Kathmandu’s same-age brother Ontario ES was 2nd at the Scandinavian Open for 4-year-olds at Falsterbo 2023, and brother Cum Laude ES was sold for a large sum to Morocco at the ET auction in spring 2023. The oldest sibling in this successful group is the mare Labelle ES, who won the KWPN 7-year-old championship in August 2023! Granddam Selotte competed in young horse classes and has since been used exclusively for breeding, where she has so far produced 3 international advanced level horses: Accente Z, who is also an approved stallion in KWPN, Exstase, and Hosanne ES. Several of Selotte’s younger offspring currently compete at medium level with good results and are expected to move up in the ranks. Kathmandu has a friendly personality with fantastic willingness to cooperate and intelligence, always eager to please. In conformation, he is a very complete stallion of a modern showjumping type with correct leg positioning, well-formed hooves, muscular back and hindquarters, a strong topline, and a sporty, long-lined model. Kathmandu is now co-owned by Grevlundagården, i.e., Peder Fredricson & Lisen Bratt Fredricson, and after this breeding season at Eklunda, he will be matched further in their excellent system for a future sports career!
