About Halifax van het Kluizebos
Halifax van het Kluizebos is an exceptional competition horse who, ridden by Lorenzo De Luca, has left a strong mark on the world’s most prestigious show jumping arenas. He has been ranked World No. 1 and was awarded both FEI World No. 1 and WBFSH Horse of the Year, making him the most successful son of Heartbreaker based on sporting performance. His dam line is equally outstanding.
Together with Lorenzo De Luca, Halifax van het Kluizebos belonged to the very top of the sport for several years. He competed internationally until the age of 15 and had earned more than €900,000 by the end of his career. During this time, he achieved numerous successes in international ranking classes and received prestigious titles including “Horse of the Year” and “FEI World’s No. 1.”
In breeding, Halifax van het Kluizebos has already made a clear impact. Of the 15 offspring born before 2018 and registered with Horsetelex, nine are competing at international level. Among these are Monseigneur, also known as Monseigneur vd Ceulshaegen (fifth in CSI4*-W 1.60 m), Hazard van T&L Z (CSI2* 1.45 m), Haiti DW Z (finalist at the Belgian Eight-Year-Old Championship), Modest van den Eik (CSI 1.40 m), Nanton van T&L (CSI 1.40 m), as well as Quando Deux VLS, Nooit Gedacht, Nalicham van T&L, Heaven vd Berghoeve Z, Hamilton Vest DWB, Le Flamme, Feflex Ter Leydonck, and No Strings Attached.
He has also produced eight approved sons. Notable among them are Prestige van het Kluizebos, a popular BWP stallion with CSI results, Nanteuil van T&L, who placed sixth in the PAVO Cup for stallions, and Talifax van ’t Roth, who jumped triple clear at the Five-Year-Old Championships and was sold for €370,000 at the Woodlands Auction.
His sire, Heartbreaker, ridden by Peter Geerink, was highly successful at international level and has produced countless champions and winners across all categories. He is also a strong sire in the second generation.
Halifax van het Kluizebos is the first offspring of the mare Dalida van de Heffinck, herself by Fetiche du Pas. Dalida has produced two broodmares and another offspring who later became the dam of Cha Cha H, a licensed stallion in Oldenburg.
The granddam, Ovanna van de Heffinck, produced a total of eleven offspring, several of whom competed successfully at 1.60 m level. Among them is the approved stallion Upsilon van de Heffinck, who himself competed at 1.60 m level. Other notable offspring include Tifanie van de Heffinck, the dam of Adonis van de Vijf Eiken (CSI 1.60 m), Versace van de Heffinck (CSI 1.60 m), Wiewie van de Heffinck (dam of Halifax van de Heffinck, CSI 1.50 m), and Cremant van de Heffinck (CSI 1.55 m).
In the third generation appears Havanna van de Heffinck, who also produced eleven offspring, including several approved stallions and international top sport horses. She is the dam of the approved stallions Dolce Havanna van de Heffinck, Gucci vs Dolce D’Heybought, and Con Solo van de Heffinck. Her other offspring include Fire van de Heffinck (CSI 1.50 m, approved stallion), Quirio van de Heffinck (CSI 1.50 m, approved stallion), Quita van de Heffinck (CSI 1.40 m), Ulpia van de Heffinck (CSI 1.40 m and dam of Lewis van de Kampel, CSI 1.40 m), and Veaudeville van de Heffinck, the dam of Butterfly Greenfield (CSI 1.45 m).
The dam line is exceptionally performance-oriented and has produced a wide range of international top horses, including Quel Homme van de Heffinck, Souvenir van de Heffinck, Onassis, Elini, Dior van het Costersveld, Ima van d’Abdijhoeve, K2, Be Quite van de Bosrand, Grand Cru vd Vijf Eiken, ASB Conquistador, and Utrillo van de Heffinck.
