About Zonik Plus

Together with his rider Justin Verboomen, Zonik Plus has taken the dressage world by storm. In a short period of time, the pair have established themselves among the international elite and crowned their success with double gold medals at the 2025 European Dressage Championships. Zonik Plus began his career with great success as a young horse. Ridden by Justin Verboomen, he represented Belgium at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in 2022, where the pair finished sixth in the six-year-old class. He also won the Belgian Young Horse Championships as a four-, five-, and six-year-old. Zonik Plus made his international Grand Prix debut at the turn of 2024–2025, followed by a breakthrough season. At the 2025 European Dressage Championships, the pair won gold medals in both the Grand Prix Special and the Kür. During the 2025 Aachen competitions, they also claimed gold in the Kür. In addition, they achieved placings at the World Cup qualifiers in Mechelen and ’s-Hertogenbosch during the 2024/2025 season. As a nine-year-old, Zonik Plus was ranked fifth on the FEI world ranking at the end of 2025. In breeding, Zonik Plus currently has only a limited number of very young offspring. His sire, Glock’s Zonik N.O.P., combines the Danish stallions Zack, Romanov, and Don Schufro. Together with Edward Gal, he won team silver at the European Championships in Rotterdam and also placed sixth in the Grand Prix Special and eighth in the Kür. The dam, Heideblume, is a daughter of the Trakehner stallion Hohenstein I, who was named “Trakehner Stallion of the Year” in 2002 and competed up to Grand Prix level.
