About Souverain

Souverain is a dark bay KWPN stallion born in 2022, bred by M.P. Olthof Horses B.V. in the Netherlands. He was one of the absolute highlights of the KWPN licensing in 's-Hertogenbosch, celebrated by the audience for his cadence, shoulder freedom, back engagement, and presence. His sire Sezuan was World Champion for young dressage horses at five, six, and seven years old and is Danish Champion Stallion, record stallion performance test winner, Danish dressage horse champion, elite stallion, and Stallion of the Year in Denmark. Among his notable offspring are Bundeschampion and four-year-old World Breeding Championship winner So Unique, successful at advanced level with Isabell Werth, Vice World Champion and Bundeschampion Secret, and the reigning Louisdor Prize winner DSP Sheldon Cooper with Carina Harnisch. His dam Passionata competed in the Small Tour and is a half sister of the licensed Grand Prix stallion Arianes Razottie, successful internationally with Julia Groenhart. Passionata also produced the licensed stallion Quazotti, who won international young horse tests and competed at the World Championships for six-year-old dressage horses. His dam sire Stedinger, a son of Sandro Hit, was Oldenburg Champion Stallion in 2002 and has produced over 40 licensed sons. Souverain stands at stud with fresh semen at Helgstrand Dressage in Vodskov, Denmark.
