About Independent

Independent is an Oldenburg stallion born in 2022, bred by Ewald Grotelüschen in Wardenburg, Germany. He was awarded premium stallion status at the licensing in Vechta and completed his stallion performance test in Denmark with scores of 9.0 for canter, 8.5 for trot and capacity, and 8.0 for walk, resulting in a total score of 833.5. His sire Asgard's Ibiza won the Small Final at the World Championships for five-year-old dressage horses and placed fifth in the final with Juliane Brunkhorst in 2018. He was also successful in the international small tour with Emmelie Scholtens and has produced 30 licensed sons, including Imperial MT, placed tenth at the World Championships for young dressage horses, and In My Mind NRW, a two-time World Championships finalist. Independent's dam St.Pr.St. Elfenperle OLD reached the Brillantring at the Oldenburg Mare Show in Rastede in 2017 and won the bronze medal at the Oldenburg Championships for young riding horses. His half-brother Schatzmeister MZ OLD placed fifth at the World Championships for six-year-old dressage horses in Verden with a score of 86.4 percent. The dam's sire De Niro was successful at Grand Prix level at the age of eight and led the WBFSH ranking of the world's best dressage sires for six consecutive years. His offspring include Desperados FRH with Kristina Bröring-Sprehe, D'Agostino FRH with Fabienne Müller-Lütkemeier, and Voice with Edward Gal. In Germany alone, over 260 horses are successful at advanced S level and have won over 3.4 million euros in prize money. De Niro has produced over 100 licensed sons. The grand-dam Elfensonne produced the licensed stallion Dimanche Royal NG, successful at Grand Prix level with Molly Beth Schiltgen, and Fürst Olli, successful in international para sport with Australian rider Claire Graham.
