“Karmel van de Watering is an incredible showjumping talent. It’s one thing to have potential, another to prove it!” — Jens Fredricson Karmel van de Watering was the highest-scoring showjumping stallion at the Swedish stallion performance test in 2016. He was praised for his rhythm, balance, quick reflexes, scope, willingness to move forward, and back technique. His temperament was noted as cooperative, brave, calm, and energetic. The test riders spoke highly of him and described him as a true horse for the future. Career Highlights: Finalist at the 2015 World Championship for Young Horses (5-year-olds) with Nick Vrins. Leading the Belgian Pavo Cup before being sold to Sweden in February 2016. Competed up to 1.50m with Jens Fredricson, including a 4th place in the Breeders Trophy for 6-year-olds and strong performances at international level. Winner of the Grand Prix at the Norwegian Horse Festival (Lillestrøm) and a 3* GP in Herning in 2020. Continued success in 2021–2022, including top placings at Elmia Horse Show, Skånes Top 10, and international shows in Paris, Leipzig, Stockholm, and Rotterdam. In November 2022, Thomas Ryan took over the reins and immediately secured international placings — including 2nd place in a 1.45m ranking class and a CSI5* 1.50m placing in Basel early 2023. Karmel van de Watering passed away in 2023.
